Amyas is a flexible ensemble formed around a core duo. Its core members are Emily Baines and Arngeir Hauksson who, between them perform on recorders, lutes, vocals, hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, shawms, dulcian, percussion and more! Obviously they can't do these all at the same time so they often expand the group to include other performers. Emily and Arngeir are both specialists in Historical Performance Practices but met when they were both working in the theatre, so bring a theatrical and entertaining flair to every type of music they explore, leading their audiences on a journey of discovery into the 'foreign country' that is the past.
